Radiation Safety
Radiation Safety and all staff working with radioactive materials need to ensure that all radioactive sources are licensed and all equipment are used safely.
Radioactive Waste
information about radioactive waste
radioactive waste - radioactive substances, nuclear materials or radionuclide sources with radionuclide content above the withdrawal level, whose further use is not foreseen;

tailings storage facility – a complex of special structures and equipment designed for storage or disposal of radioactive, toxic and other wastes dumps of mineral processing called tailings;

To collect and transport RW at the facilities, the following shall be used:
1) for solid RW (hereinafter - SRW) - collection containers equipped with primary packaging, plastic or paper bags as an independent package.
The use of plastic and paper bags as independent packaging (outside the container) is not allowed for waste containing emanating substances or waste which may cause mechanical damage to bags (sharp, piercing and cutting objects);
2) for liquid RW (hereinafter - LRW) - collection containers or special tanks.

More information can be found here (Chapter 40 of Sanitary Rules "Sanitary and Epidemiological Requirements for Radiation Hazardous Facilities", Order No. 260 of the Acting Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 27, 2015).
